At Leo Rising, we believe that feeling clean should never be a luxury or a privilege. Yet, for far too many in our community, basic hygiene is out of reach.
Hygiene poverty isn’t just about cleanliness—it’s about dignity, health, and opportunity. When individuals can’t afford essentials like shampoo, toothpaste, or laundry detergent, the effects are profound. It impacts mental and physical wellbeing and can lead to feelings of shame, anxiety, and isolation.
The consequences are long-lasting. People may avoid work, job interviews, or school because they don’t feel presentable. Social interactions become limited, and confidence takes a hit. Hygiene poverty creates barriers that keep people from accessing education, employment, and positive self image.
We’re working to change that—one act of care at a time.
Please reach us at leorisingnonprofit@gmail.com if you need assistance.
